The new Honda Accord V6 has been judged Australia's best luxury car under
$57,000 in the 2003 Australia's Best Cars awards.
The Australia's Best Car's judging panel was impressed by the Accord V6's
price, value for money, running costs, safety and environmental impact.
"The Honda Accord V6 has everything you expect from a luxury car at a
value-for-money price," said Australia's Best Cars Chief Judge Ernest Litera.
"The Accord V6 backs up its $39,990 price tag with excellent quality,
attention to detail and on-road handling. It also scores consistently above
average in terms of space, ergonomics and road noise."
Honda Australia Director Lindsay Smalley said he was pleased with the
motoring associations' recognition.
"This award highlights what Honda strongly believes - the Accord V6 is a
luxury package with a very affordable price tag."
"The Accord V6 is comprehensively equipped with Honda's latest safety
technology and a host of luxury features including dual zone climate control,
6-stack CD player, cruise control and power windows and mirrors."
The Accord range is available in three specification levels - a four-cylinder
Accord VTi and six cylinder Accord V6 and Accord V6 Luxury.
The Accord V6 and V6 Luxury variants feature a 3.0-litre 177kW engine,
five-speed automatic transmission, drive-by-wire throttle, traction control
system, dual-stage front i-SRS airbags, side airbags and ABS.
Australia's Best Cars is one of the nation's most prestigious motoring awards
and is run by RACV, NRMA, RACQ, RACT, RAASA, RACWA and AANT. It is an
independent and objective award using an evaluation system incorporating a
detailed survey of what car buyers expect from not just a car, but from a car
award as well.
