Fresh new look includes new front fascia and grille
Melbourne, December, 2003 - The latest Jeep® Grand Cherokee, with a
new appearance that accentuates the vehicle's distinctive design and 4x4
leadership, has been launched to the Australian marketplace.
The new Jeep Grand Cherokee features a fresh look with a new front fascia and
grille for all models. The Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland and Limited models also
feature round fog lamps.
The more upright grille bars enhance the trademark seven-slotted grille
design, and the sculpted front fascia holds round fog lamps that invoke Jeep's
heritage and strengthen the family resemblance with the Cherokee and Wrangler.
The Grand Cherokee Overland and Limited models have body-colour with chrome
surround grille bars while the Laredo models features chromed grille bars. All
models of the new-look Grand Cherokee have a silver-painted accent below the
fascia. New 17-inch diameter, five-spoke wheels are now standard on the Limited
model.
Safety features standard on all Jeep Grand Cherokee models include
next-generation front air bags, self-adjusting low-tension three-point front
seat belts and height-adjustable shoulder belts.
Proven Jeep Four-Wheel Drive Systems
All Grand Cherokee vehicles in Australia are available with Jeep-engineered
four-wheel-drive systems. The Quadra-Trac II® on-demand transfer case with low
range is standard on all models. The Quadra-Trac II transfer case incorporates a
progressive, speed-sensing torque transfer coupling.
The Quadra-Drive® system combines the Quadra-Trac II transfer case with
Vari-Lok® axles, which use progressive, hydro-mechanical speed-sensing torque
transfer couplings in both front and rear differentials. Quadra-Drive is
standard on the Overland V8 model and optional on the Limited V8 model.
