Lexus will showcase its technology, passenger safety and luxury features with
a full line-up at the Brisbane Motor Show.
The show follows a record sales year for the company.
During 2003 a sales increase of 44 percent catapulted Lexus to be the third
highest-selling luxury car marque in Australia.
Lexus' star performer, the RX330, will be on show at Brisbane. It won
Australia's Best Luxury Four Wheel Drive Award as judged by Australia's seven
automobile clubs, and was nominated for Wheels Car of the Year.
The popular RX330 also currently leads the luxury SUV market in Australia in
sales.
Lexus' rugged and luxurious LX470 Four Wheel Drive will be shown complete
with wireless Bluetooth mobile phone technology, Lexus rear vision camera and
rear-seat DVD system.
Lexus' flagship - the fifth generation LS430 launched in late 2003 - features
six-speed automatic transmission with sequential shift, and improved suspension
and steering.
The LS430 also features wireless Bluetooth technology offering hands-free
mobile phone operation for compatible phones via the steering wheel, or through
the in-dash DVD satellite navigation screen.
Bluetooth provides hands-free functionality even while the compatible mobile
phone is stored in a pocket, briefcase or handbag.
Other LS430 technology features include Active Cruise Control, intelligent
adaptive headlamps that provide extra coverage when driving around corners,
Lexus rear view camera, and an automatically-retracting power-operated rear
sunshade.
The Lexus flagship's interior also has power-operated rear seats with memory
and a rear seat massage system as standard.
The sporty Lexus IS200 and IS300 will be joined in Brisbane by the 157kW
ES300 luxury sedan and the 163kW GS300.
The Lexus display is rounded out by the sporty SC430 coupe. It features a
hard top, which disappears into the boot in 25 seconds, polished wood and
leather trim, and a nine-speaker Mark Levinson premium stereo system.
