Boasting class-leading power and dynamics the 1.5-litre Mazda2 is now priced
from $17,490 with air conditioning, a saving of $1000 on the superseded model.
Powered by an 82 kilowatt engine, the Mazda2 combines first-class ride and
handling with a spacious, high-quality interior that is loaded with standard
features.
Offering unrivalled value in the light car market, the five-door Mazda2 Neo
adds to its standard air conditioning: power windows and mirrors, central
locking, a CD player, 14-inch wheels and tyres, power steering, an engine
immobiliser and no-cost metallic paint.
The Neo's safety equipment is also impressive with new generation dual stage
front airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners with dual stage load limiters,
anti-whiplash front seats, an intrusion minimising brake pedal that reduces the
chance of lower leg injuries in a heavy frontal impact and five lap/sash
seatbelts all standard.
The Mazda2 Neo and mid grade Mazda2 Maxx, which is now priced from $19,570 -
down $1000 on the previous model - are available with a $1200 safety pack.
The safety pack includes a class-leading four additional airbags (a side
airbag on each front seat and head protecting curtain airbags, taking the airbag
count to six) and ABS brakes with Electronic Brake force Distribution and Brake
Assist.
Six airbags and ABS brakes are standard on the Mazda2 Genki, which is now
priced from $21,615 - a saving of $1000 before the addition of side and curtain
airbags is included.
The price changes for Mazda2 coincide with the launch of a number of
specification enhancements with all models now featuring distinctive tail lamps
that are similar to those fitted to the Mazda3, Mazda6 and RX-8.
Inside, all Mazda2 models receive a number of improvements.
New seat materials have also been added with the Neo now coming with a darker
blue trim complete with a mesh weave finish, while a matching dark blue trim
panel has been added to the top of each door on all models. The result is a more
coordinated and upmarket looking cabin.
Maxx models now share the dark sporty-looking metal-mesh and embossed knit
trim from the range-topping Genki.
And the Genki adds brushed alloy look finishes on the door armrests and
internal door handles while the speedo and tachometer feature brushed alloy look
meter rings.
New colors have also been added, with Winning Blue mica and Platinum Silver
metallic joining an 11 color line up that also includes Spicy Orange metallic
and Honey Yellow.
Standard features on the Maxx and Genki models are just as impressive as the
value-packed Neo.
The Mazda2 Maxx adds a six-stack in-dash CD player, 15-inch alloy wheels,
remote central locking, wheel-mounted stereo controls that are illuminated at
night, sporty trim and a rear roof-mounted spoiler.
The range-topping Genki boasts a body kit that includes a front spoiler, side
and rear skirts and a rear spoiler, driving lights and ABS brakes with EBD and
Brake Assist and six airbags. The Genki is the only car in its segment offering
this level of occupant protection as standard.
The Mazda2 is protected by a comprehensive 3 year/unlimited kilometre
warranty.
