How Safe are Your Kids in a Car?
Volvo Cars' safety manual Children in Cars provides a few
guidelines
Most kids love to sit up the front when Mum or Dad is driving if the
passenger seat is empty. However, did you know that a child less than 140cm tall
(4ft 7in) is too short to sit in a front seat with an airbag? Or that all
children should continue to use rear-facing child seats until they are at least
three years old?
All parents want to ensure children are safe when driving, but every day
children are still getting hurt or killed because they are too big or too small
for their car seat, or they are too young to be using a forward-facing car seat.
A child in a booster seat should wear a seat belt differently from the way an
adult does.
Volvo has just released a new, easy-to-read safety manual written
specifically to answer safety questions concerning Children in Cars. Children
in Cars gives important information on how to adjust your seat belt when
pregnant and everything you need to know about babies and car seats, airbags,
seat belts and booster seats. All is valuable information that could prevent
harm or reduce injury to a child during an impact.
