It may have been a long time coming, but for a growing list of industry OEM’s,
the anticipated September staging of Australia’s inaugural Light Commercial
Vehicles Expo is well worth the wait.
The Brisbane LCV Expo is the Country’s first significant event focused
exclusively on light commercial vehicles. It comes at a time when other
opportunities for manufacturers to showcase their range have been long put to
rest.
LCV Expo organiser, Larry Ormsby, said the timing of the event was an
important consideration.
“The LCV market is one of the fastest growing markets in the motoring
industry. So a dedicated spring carnival for workhorses makes a lot of sense”,
he explained.
“Traditionally, motor shows occur in the first half of the calendar year,
with the last shows over by about May”.
“A September expo gives exhibitors a unique opportunity to launch new models,
innovations and services post financial year and pre-Christmas - a period when
businesses are setting budgets and looking to buy”, Mr Ormsby continued.
Renault Australia is one profile exhibitor eager to capitalise on the timing
of the premier new event.
The LCV Expo will be the first chance for Renault to show off their
much-lauded new work vehicle, the Trafic.
Tipped by industry critics to soon set an Australian benchmark in its
category, the Renault Trafic with its 1200kg payload capacity combines
distinctive European styling and design with new levels of comfort and safety.
Renault spokesperson, Karl Gehling, is looking forward to the exposure the
new vehicle will gain at the LCV Expo.
“The Renault Trafic will bring LCV and passenger car requirements closer
together. The LCV Expo will give us an excellent forum to demonstrate the
vehicle’s many benefits to a large and dedicated market in one location at one
time. It’s perfect”, Mr Gehling explained.
While the Trafic will be making its first public appearance at the September
LCV Expo, Renault will also be using the occasion to showcase other proven
thoroughbreds from their impressive stable.
The three-day LCV Expo has been booked for 17 – 19 September 2004 in the
Exhibition Building at Brisbane’s RNA showgrounds.
With its two generous floors, the venue is large enough to accommodate a
comprehensive list of related exhibitors including manufacturers, finance,
leasing and insurance companies, IT and telecommunication businesses, GPS and
tracking systems, vehicle fit-out specialists and much more.
Further to the expansive showroom space, the LCV Expo venue will provide
exhibitors with a business centre, catering services, and leading-edge seminar
facilities where they will be able to schedule tailored presentations to both
trade and other LCV users.
Interest in the launch event has been overwhelming. Organisers are confident
of turning the landmark expo into a regular fixture on the motoring calendar
with plans to stage similar events in several capital cities.
Many of Australia’s leading LCV manufacturers and industry heavyweights have
thrown their weight behind the initiative by already confirming their
attendance.
While most exhibitors are justifiably tight-lipped about their exhibition
plans and objectives, they do share one common opinion about the long-overdue
LCV forum: it’s about bloody time.
Limited opportunities to participate in Australia’s first LCV Expo are still
available. Those companies interested in joining the event should visit the
website, www.lcvexpo.com.au or call the
expo organisers on 07 5510 3499
