SCANDINAVIAN CAR COMPANY Saab has given Mary Donaldson and Prince Frederik a
brand new Saab Convertible as a wedding gift.
The open-top luxury four-seater car, valued at close to $100,000 in
Australian prices, was gifted to the royal couple on behalf of Saab’s head
office and its dealers in Denmark.
Mary and Frederik, pictured accepting their new blue Saab, were reportedly
delighted with their surprise gift.
The Saab Convertible model given to Mary and Prince Frederik is the
top-of-the-range ‘Aero’ version. It boasts a high-output turbocharged engine,
leather trim, and clever features including a fully automatic roof that opens or
closes in 20 seconds at the press of a button.
In Australia the Aero Convertible sells for $92,400. By the time options and
on-road costs are added the price is close to $100,000.
The gift from Saab further underlines the bond shared by neighbouring
Scandinavian countries.
