Nissan Australia has recorded outstanding sales during June, with a total of
6,377 vehicles retailed during the month. This is the best June result in
fourteen years, and cements Nissan’s position as Australia’s top full-line
importer with 6.6% market share.
Year-to-date figures for the company emphasise Nissan’s steady growth, with
the latest figures for June showing an 11% increase on the same period last
year.
Passenger vehicle sales during calendar 2004 are an impressive 18% higher
than for the same period last year and the popular Pulsar small car continues to
contribute strongly to this result with 1,343 sales in June.
Nissan’s new prestige sedan, the Maxima, also performed well and recorded
total sales of 543 during the month – the best June result ever. Finally, the
outstanding 350Z sports coupe and roadster models maintained a healthy sales
rate with 123 retail sales in June.
Nissan’s legendary four-wheel drive line-up is also on the move – SUV and
light commercial vehicle sales during June totalled 4,365 vehicles, the second
highest monthly result ever recorded by the company.
Star performer was Nissan’s compact SUV entrant, the extreme X-TRAIL, with
1,382 sales during June. The popularity of this versatile vehicle remains very
strong, with year-to-date figures showing an 11% increase over the same period
last year.
Nissan’s sporty Navara 4x4 utility line-up – including the stylish new Series
2 ST-R – continued to re-write the record books with the best monthly result
ever of 1,380 vehicles and a year-to-date sales rate an outstanding 28% ahead of
the same period last year.
And Nissan’s legendary Patrol wagon and Patrol cab-chassis models completed
the success story with strong sales for both vehicles and the latter claiming
the best monthly result in two years.
According to Nissan’s director of sales and marketing, Paul Stead, these
impressive June results were strongly supported by Nissan’s mid-year sales
event, the Bottom Line campaign.
“The Bottom Line campaign provides promotional programs on vehicles in
Nissan’s Australian commercial vehicle line-up, including outstanding offers on
the X-TRAIL four-wheel drive, Patrol wagon and cab chassis and the Navara 4x4
range,” Mr Stead said. “And unlike the majority of our competitors, Nissan has
undertaken to extend this offer right through to the end of July to ensure our
customers have every opportunity to participate in this top-value promotion.”
