New vehicles and competitive pricing has delivered a promising start to the
year for Saab.
The soon-to-be launched new 9-5, previewed at the Brisbane International
Motor Show this week, joins the all new SportCombi and upgraded 9-3 Aero range,
to give Saab Australia its largest portfolio of vehicles.
With new product and pricing, Saab is already experiencing significant growth
in orders from its network for the 9-3 SportCombi and Sport Sedan models.
Saab recently announced realigned pricing, reducing the recommended retail
prices of its vehicles by up to $8,000. Changes to the Saab 2006 model year
range include:
- The new 9-5 Sedan and SportEstate. Aero receives a power upgrade from 184kW
to 191kW (further details to be announced at launch next month).
- The addition of the all new 9-3 SportCombi, offered in Linear (with an
optional Sport Pack) and V6 Aero. Linear SportCombi is priced from $45,400, Aero
from $72,400.
- The most significant repositioning of the entry model 9-3 Linear Sport
Sedan. Linear gains the important safety feature, Electronic Stability
Programme, and Climate Control and replaces leather seats and alloys with
leatherette/woven textile and steel wheels. Linear’s recommended retail price
(RRP) reduces by $8,000 from $47,900 to $39,900. A Linear Lux model, with
leather seats and alloy wheels, is available from $42,900.
- 9-3 Vector Sport Sedan receives a significant power upgrade, with the 2.0
litre high output turbo up from 129kW to 154kW, and pricing reduced by $4,000
from $57,900 to $53,900.
- The reduction in price of Linear and Vector 9-3 Convertible models by
$2,000. Linear is now from $64,900 and Vector from $71,900. In line with Sport
Sedan changes, Vector Convertible also gains the 154kW high output turbo engine.
- 9-3 Aero models gain Saab’s 184 kW 2.8 litre V6 turbocharged engine. Aero
Sport Sedan increases from $67,900 to $69,900. However, Saab has absorbed the
cost of the new engine for Aero Convertible holding the price at $89,900.
