DaimlerChrysler Appoints Senior Manager of Corporate Communications

Melbourne— DaimlerChrysler Australia has announced the appointment of David McCarthy as Senior Manager, Corporate Communications, effective from August 14, 2006.

David McCarthy, who brings with him previous experience in large corporate environments, has for the past six years been a freelance motoring journalist working for various publications including Wheels magazine, BVM, and Sports Car and Racer magazine to name a few.

“We are delighted that David is joining DaimlerChrysler leading our Corporate Communications department. His understanding and expertise across all media platforms will be a huge asset to the company,” said Ernst H. Lieb, President and CEO of DaimlerChrysler Australia/Pacific.

“David’s previous experience and extensive knowledge of the automotive industry will also be very beneficial.

“David joins DaimlerChrysler at a very exciting time with the upcoming launch of the Dodge brand into Australia, as well as a windfall of new models for the Mercedes-Benz brand,” continued Lieb.

David McCarthy will be responsible for overseeing communications for all DaimlerChrysler brands and will work closely with the new President and CEO, Mr. Wolfgang Schrempp, as well as Horst von Sanden, Managing Director for Mercedes Car Group, Gerry Jenkins, Managing Director for Chrysler Group and Ken Matthews, Managing Director of Commercial Vehicles.
