Melbourne based entrepreneur Sam Nash keeps the wheels of his busy Nashi retail
stores turning with a small and nimble fleet of refrigerated Mercedes-Benz Vito
vehicles, which service five Melbourne CBD stores, with a sixth store to open
shortly.
The Nashi business keeps the stomaches of over 2,500 hungry Melbournians
content with its freshly made delicious ‘ready-to-eat’ sandwiches, baguettes,
wraps and fresh juices.
Nashi represents a healthy and wholesome business model which is building a
foothold in the health conscious consumer segment. Preparing in excess of 1,600
bread products per day in a commercial kitchen at the base of the AMP building
in St James square, the two specially refrigerated Mercedes-Benz Vito’s, a 115
CDI SWB Vito and the predecessor 113 CDI Vito, are put through their paces
delivering wholesome and healthy food. The Nashi approach is simple, providing
time poor customers with a healthy eat on-the-run lunch alternative.
“The fleet of Vito’s are ideal for city driving, because they’re just so
versatile” says Sam Nash, owner of Nashi.
With refrigeration being the key to success the Vito was selected as a
delivery vehicle based on its interior cargo capacity. “With the refrigeration
panelling occupying part of the cargo space, it was important we had still
enough room to fit produce for the inner-city delivery runs” continued Nash.
Decaled in Nashi corporate logos, the Vito’s not only look the part on the
road but also keep the produce very fresh at a cool 3°C degrees in temperature.
With the Vito recently taking out the accolade for Van of the Year 2005 and
with impressive sales results this year, the Vito is clearly carving a
reputation for excellence and is rightly seen as the intelligent choice for
businesses.
“The Vito provides a great platform for any business because of its
versatility and functionality,” said Campbell York, senior executive responsible
for Mercedes-Benz Light Commercial Vehicles in Australia.
“Mercedes-Benz provides a strong line-up of light commercial model variants
which complements any business requirement,” said York.
With such a great sandwich menu and with the reliable Vito, the future for
the Nashi business looks promising.
