New York residents will be stopped in their tracks when the Le Mans-winning
Audi R10 TDI, R8 sportscar and 1939 Auto Union Type D are driven down Park
Avenue, New York City to coincide with the grand opening of the new Audi Forum
New York City this Wednesday 11 October 2006.
The Audi vehicles will be accompanied by police escort as they proceed along
the streets of Manhattan to the new Audi Forum, situated on the corner of Park
Avenue and 47th Street – which will be officially opened by the Lord Mayor of
New York City, Michael R. Bloomberg.
Following the grand opening, the powerful 650 hp diesel race car begins a
3,000 mile journey across the USA to California, where it will compete in the
American Le Mans Series finale on 21 October 2006.
The Audi R10 TDI remains unbeaten, having won every individual title to date.
