Ford's recently released ZC model Escape Sport Utility Vehicle offers the perfect way to make some memories.

The stylish SUV is available with a 2.3-litre four cylinder or optional 3.0-litre V6 engine, and on demand four-wheel drive across the range ensures even out of the way places can be reached in comfort and class.

All models also feature a new four speed floor mounted automatic transmission as standard.

The new line-up consists of the Escape XLS four cylinder, Escape XLT four cylinder, Escape XLT Sport V6 and the range topping Escape Limited V6.

"The refinements and enhancements introduced on the new ZC Escape have successfully repositioned the model in a more prominent position in our exciting SUV portfolio," said Ford Australia President Tom Gorman.

"The exterior of the new ZC Escape has been redesigned significantly, giving it a modern, stylish look and creating a stronger family appearance between it and the award winning Ford Territory."

Externally, Escape boasts a new grille, comprising three horizontal bars with a bright finish, matching seamlessly with the new hood complete with bright front edge garnish and new feature lines.

A freshly styled front bumper, incorporating an updated skid plate on the XLT Sport and Limited models, houses recessed circular fog lamps which match the stylish new four chamber chrome-ringed headlamps, encased in a smoked housing.

On the range-topping Limited, the turn indicators are now housed in the side vision mirrors, providing improved visibility and adding a distinctive, luxury feel.

At the rear, a new lift gate garnish is complemented by a new rear bumper – incorporating a skid plate on the XLT Sport and Limited models – housing rear fog lamps and a new rear combination LED lamp.

"Improved ergonomics, refined car-like handling and a redesigned spacious interior have contributed to the new model's increased sophistication," said Mr Gorman.

The centre console has been remodeled to make it more functional while new-look instruments, door trims and seat fabrics complete the look.

Escape customers will also enjoy a much quieter interior with improved insulation to reduce engine, wind and road noise. The changes include new dash insulators, body damping sheets and seals.

"Escape is a refined vehicle that is fun to drive, and gives owners the added freedom and capability of being a genuine four-wheel drive vehicle. It also has the capability to transport five adults and their luggage with ease, enabling people to escape."

A dedicated Escape micro-website was also launched to coincide with the release of the ZC model. The site has since been linked with NineMSN, www.ninemsn.com.au/escape, and offers visitors suggestions as to how they can escape and best take advantage of their vehicle.

A selection of travel tips, vacation destinations, culinary hints and kid-friendly escapes already feature on the site, with more sections to be added on a regular basis.

"The feedback we've had on both the vehicle and the NineMSN Escape website has been outstanding. The web site has generated substantial traffic since it's been live," said Mr Gorman.

"The Escape site has definitely helped drive buzz and excitement around the new model, and has introduced the new model to an internet-savvy audience.

"With a combination of a fresh new look inside and out and new levels of refinement, the new Escape has all the attributes necessary to be a vital part of a winning Ford line-up,” Mr Gorman said.
