The new Audi TT has celebrated its official Australian launch with a
spectacular week of events based at Phillip Island Raceway in Victoria.
Clearly demonstrating ‘ Vorsprung durch Technik’, the new TT took the
roads and the racetrack at Phillip Island with poise – proving that performance,
design and prestige can co-exist in a single evolutionary sportscar package.
A series of VIP customer events, training event, the national press launch
and a national dealer conference all took place during the TT launch week from
13 – 17 November 2006 at Phillip Island.
More than 250 people test-drove the new Audi TT during the week. Former Audi
Super-Touring Car Champion, Brad Jones, was on hand at Phillip Island to ensure
that both drivers and cars got the most out of their time on the racetrack and
where able to experience the myriad new technologies in this latest model. These
highlights include Audi Magnetic Ride, the new suspension set-up, powerful
engines, quattro and of course the electric rear spoiler now a major feature of
the new model.
Three variants are available at launch in Australia including;
| Audi TT Coupe 2.0 T FSI manual, 147kW |
Rrp $68,900 |
| Audi TT Coupe 2.0 T FSI S tronic, 147 kW |
Rrp $72,500 |
| Audi TT Coupe 3.2 quattro S tronic, 184 kW |
Rrp $88,900 |
The new generation TT Coupe is even more expressive in its appearance than
its highly-successful predecessor. Its defining element is the single frame
grille, surrounded by a narrow chrome strip, immediately tying this new TT to
the very latest generation of Audi design.
The new TT is now longer and broader, emphasising its sportscar proportions
and adding stability. The car now stands even more confidently on the road,
whilst new tension in the panel surfaces generates a real sense of
forward-thrust.
