Two of Hyundai’s new models launched this year have been honoured by America’s premier online resource for automotive information, Edmunds.com.

The new Accent was nominated as the Edmunds.com Editors’ Most Wanted Sedan Under $US15,000 (approx $A 20,000), while the new Grandeur (badged ‘Azera’ in the US) was declared the Edmunds.com Editors’ Most Wanted Sedan Under $US 30,000 (approx $A40,000).

The dual awards mark the first time that two Hyundai models have been selected to Edmunds’ Most Wanted list in the same year.

"The Editors' Most Wanted winners provide class-leading performance, quality, style and value," said Karl Brauer, Editor-in-Chief at Edmunds.com. "These are the cars that our editorial team would choose to have in our own driveways."

In selecting the Accent, Edmunds.com’s editorial staff proclaimed it to be “pleasant to drive and loaded with features.”

The Azera (Grandeur) was said to “deliver plenty of high-end features and performance...and worth a good look when shopping in this category.”

“Accent and Azera (Grandeur) represent the wide range of high quality cars across Hyundai’s revamped model lineup,” said John Krafcik, vice president, Strategic Planning and Product Development, Hyundai Motor America. “It’s fitting that these two models would win the Edmunds.com Editors’ Most Wanted honour in the same year, demonstrating the strength of the Hyundai lineup from top to bottom.”
