Suzuki is well on track to achieving another record-breaking year, after sales
for February 2007 set an all time sales record.
The record-breaking month of 1,837 sales nationally is a significant 51.2 per
cent increase compared to the same time last year.
Suzuki's recent success translates to a year-to-date market share of 2.2 per
cent, giving the company their best yearly sales start and moving Suzuki even
closer towards a ranking as one of the top ten manufacturers in Australia.
The record sales growth can be contributed to the success of the new SX4,
Grand Vitara, Swift, and Swift Sport.
Recent VFACTS sales figures confirm the Swift firmly holds third position in
the light car segment with a 13% market share, outselling the Holden Barina,
Honda Jazz, Mazda 2 and Mitsubishi Colt.
Suzuki's newest model, the SX4 all-wheel drive, is proving to be a popular
choice with consumers and already 195 vehicles have been sold since its recent
launch onto the Australian market.
"We are confident that the introduction of new models, together with our
strong current product line-up look, will help us achieve another record
breaking year in 2007," Suzuki Australia, Managing Director, Mr Takeshi Hayasaki
said.
"With an exciting line up of further product on the way, Suzuki is on track
to its projected goal of 40,000 units in Australia by 2010".
