Suzuki on Target for Record Sales Year

12 June, 2007

"May was another fantastic month for the Suzuki brand and kept us on track for our target of 21,000 vehicles in 2007,” said Suzuki Australia General Manager Tony Devers.

"A total of 1878 cars drove out of Suzuki dealerships in May, which represents a 60 per cent increase over the May 2006 result.

"Once again the Suzuki Swift led the charge and it is now clearly one of the most popular light cars in the country.

"While many of the other small cars saw a drop in year-on-year figures, the Swift continues to go from strength to strength.”

Devers said popularity of the new SX4 continued to grow, as news of Suzuki’s latest automotive offering spread among small car buyers, while the new pricing strategy for the Liana attracted new buyers to Suzuki dealerships around the country.

Suzuki’s popular Grand Vitara SUV was another strong performer for the company, with sales up more than 51 per cent over the May 2006 result.

"The Trekker edition, which includes more than $3000 of extras, continues to put the Grand Vitara high on the wish list of compact SUV buyers around the country.”

Devers said the company was confident of continued strong sales in June, with dealers gearing up for the Sensational Suzuki Saturday sale.

Running from Wednesday June 13 to Saturday June 16, the sale includes specials for every Suzuki model, along with additional warranty and give-away offers for all customers who purchase a Suzuki from a Suzuki Australia dealer* during the four-day sale period.

All participating dealers will be offering the popular Suzuki Swift or the latest SX4 AWD hatch with a choice of $1200 RRP free accessories, while Suzuki's small passenger car, the Liana, will be discounted even further and is available from just $18,888 drive away.

The limited edition Grand Vitara Trekker pack will be available during the sale on both the three-door and five door variants** and adds over $3,000 RRP worth of extra value to the popular compact SUV.

Sensational Suzuki Saturday will also be the first opportunity for customers to purchase the new limited edition Jimny Sport, fitted with $2000 worth of extras.

Every customer who purchases a Suzuki APV will receive the 'Tradesman Bonus' - a $1000 Bunnings voucher. As an added bonus, all vehicles sold during the period will receive an additional two year/50,000 km warranty.
