Mazda has extended its support of the visual arts in Australia signing its
stylish new baby, the Mazda2, as the presenting partner of Sydney’s largest
urban arts festival, Chalk The Walk 2007 from September 20-23.
With beautiful aesthetics and distinctive design at the heart of both, the
country’s leading vehicle importer will integrate its sponsorship of Chalk
The Walk 2007into the national launch campaign of the safer, faster, lighter
and cuter All New Mazda2.
The new and improved Mazda2, which goes on sale October 1, will present the
third staging of the Festival that this year sees 40 local and international
artists competing for the title of “Champion Pavement Artist”.
Expected to attract more than 120,000 visitors over the four days, Chalk
The Walk 2007 will also feature performance art, body art, chalk graffiti
and a live entertainment stage featuring an exciting line up of local urban
music performers.
Spectacular pavement art won’t be the only design attraction at this year’s
festival, with Mazda’s latest masterpiece, the All New Mazda2, prominently
featured throughout the festival.
Two Mazda2s will be displayed on the Festival’s home site, Pyrmont Bridge,
and headline pavement artist Jenny McCracken will even decorate one with a chalk
masterpiece.
Chalk The Walk event director Andi Mether said: “As Chalk The Walk enters its third big year, we are excited to welcome the All New Mazda2 as
our presenting partner for 2007.
As a young, vibrant and exciting festival it is important that our partners
share similar qualities and that certainly seems to be the case with the All New
Mazda2.”
Mazda Australia managing director Doug Dickson said: “ Chalk The Walk is a perfect brand fit with our All New Mazda2. Boasting chic, ultra-modern
styling and universal appeal, the new generation Mazda2 attracts a much younger,
trendier buyer that Chalk The Walk allows us to connect with.
We appreciate the Zoom-Zoom qualities that Chalk The Walk presents
through its line up of live entertainment, engaging activities and inspiring
display of pavement art.”
This year Mazda is celebrating its 15th year of supporting the Arts. Mazda’s
other arts sponsorships include Opera Australia, Arts Exhibitions Australia and
the Brisbane International Film Festival.
