A poll of more than 30,000 readers of the important German motoring magazine “Auto Zeitung” has concluded that Audi has the best image out of all of the car manufacturers represented on the German market.

While this is an impressive accolade, Audi has topped the survey for the last four years in a row.

In the 2007 survey Audi scored 42.4 points overall. This was better than its two key German rivals in the premium segment who came in second and third place with 39.6 points and 35.8 points. The view of the readers is very clear: premium car manufacturers are the best and the best premium car manufacturer is Audi.

The overall results of the image survey were based on an average of the scores given by readers to 20 category questions.

Audi was rated as the best car manufacturer in seven categories: “advanced cars”, “reliable cars”, “well-finished cars”, “improved quality”, “beautiful cars”, “likeable cars” and “good advertising”. In five other categories Audi was in second place: “safe cars”, “high resale value cars”, ”well-equipped cars”, “good workshops” and “good dealerships”. And the brand was voted into third place in two other categories: “comfortable cars“and “successful in motorsport”.

A total of 14 “podium finishes” in the 20 categories - a better performance than any other manufacturer - secured the overall win for Audi.
