Melbourne – There is only one place ACT residents need to be
during the weekend of October 19-21 and that is at the 2007 Spring Home and
Leisure Show, where Mercedes-Benz will take the automotive centre stage with an
eye-opening display of some of the rarest, fastest and most luxurious cars
available today.
Capital Star Motors, the authorised dealer for Mercedes-Benz passenger cars,
vans and smart in Canberra, will have a noticeable presence at this year’s
event, showcasing more than 30 cars from the entire Mercedes-Benz range,
including the million-dollar Maybach super-luxury car.
Patrons attending this year’s show will be able to see and experience models
from each class in the extensive Mercedes-Benz range. From the popular five-door
A- and B-Class through to the range-leading S-Class saloon, every model will be
represented, including the all-new award-winning C-Class sedan range.
Models from the exhilarating Mercedes-AMG stable will also be on show,
allowing guests to get close to these high-performance, high-technology sports
machines. Derived from the world of motor racing, the Mercedes-AMG range of
sports cars boasts a fascinating blend of dynamic power and on-road handling,
all in Mercedes-Benz luxury and style.
But it’s two special vehicles that are sure to capture the attention of
show-goers, both of which capture the essence of Mercedes-Benz.
The first is the stunning Maybach 62.
This unique automotive masterpiece is a world-leading high-end luxury saloon
which offers performance and dynamic handling in keeping with a sports car.
Priced at more than AUS$1 million, this technically outstanding car is
crafted to the most exacting of standards. It combines high-end luxury comfort
with leading-edge technology in a driving package constructed according to the
goal of automotive perfection.
This car’s high-performance 405 kW V12 bi-turbo engine produces a staggering
900 Nm of torque between a low 2,300 and 3,000 RPM, which helps explain this
amazing car’s 0-100km/h time of less than five-and-a-half seconds.
Inside, the Maybach 62 offers passengers sumptuous luxury with the highest
quality materials such as hand-crafted timber and specially selected leather
upholstery.
This very special luxury flagship successfully continues the long-standing
Maybach tradition, started by Wilhelm Maybach, who was the designer of the first
Mercedes car in 1901.
The second show-stopper on display will be a replica of the machine that set
the world in motion more than 120 years ago: the Benz Patent Motor Car.
Patented in 1886 by Karl Benz, this amazing machine is recognised as the
world’s first car and signified the start of the automotive world as we know it
today.
This hand-crafted replica remains true to the original in every respect and
demonstrates the humble beginnings of the world’s most experienced car maker,
Mercedes-Benz.
Speaking about the forthcoming Mercedes-Benz display, Capital Star Motors
dealer principal, Gary Roberts, was excited about the prospect of sharing such a
vast collection of fascinating and often rare cars with the people of Canberra.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to present and share some of the rarest and
most impressive cars available today,” said Gary.
“I encourage everyone to visit this year’s show and spend some time getting
up close to these special cars. It’s exciting to be able to share such a large
number of these fascinating cars with everyone.”
