Audi Australia today announced the arrival of the limited
release A6 “White Edition”. Just ten examples of this exclusive model will be
available, offering the choice of either a petrol or diesel engine.
Confirming that white really is the new silver in fashionable
automotive circles, the A6 White Edition 2.8 FSI multitronic features a
powerful, yet light-in-weight engine with direct petrol injection and Audi
valvelift system. This extremely efficient combustion process features Audi’s
own FSI technology and provides dynamic responsiveness and agility across all
engine speed ranges. Pumping out 154 kW of power, this economical V6
engine produces 280 Nm of torque between 3,000 and 5,000 rpm.
The A6 White Edition 2.8 FSI will sprint from 0 - 100 km/h in
7.9 seconds. Combined fuel consumption on this model is 8.7 litres /
100km.
Mated to the 2.8-litre FSI engine is multitronic, Audi’s
seamless continuously variable transmission with seven programmed levels and
steering-wheel mounted buttons on the steering wheel to allow for fast and
sporty gear changes.
The A6 White Edition 3.0 TDI features quattro permanent
all-wheel drive and is fitted with the latest generation V6 diesel engine with
Common Rail injection and exhaust turbo-charging. Piezo injectors push the
diesel fuel into the combustion chamber at up to 1600 bar with two parallel-flow
charge-air intercoolers ensuring that power develops quickly and effectively.
Every Audi TDI features a diesel particulate filter as standard.
The tiptronic transmission, standard on the 3.0 TDI quattro
model, comes with Dynamic Shift Program and Sports program. This 6-speed
automatic makes sure torque is transformed into drive as smoothly and
efficiently as possible. Maximum torque of 450 Nm is delivered between a
useable range of 1400 to 3250 rpm.
The 3.0-litre diesel engine delivers 171 kW of power and
propels the car from 0 - 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds. Fuel consumption is just
8.0 litres per 100 kilometres.
Audi Australia’s General Manager, Marketing, Immo Buschmann,
said the A6 White Edition is a kind of ‘designer’ version of the A6, available
in limited numbers worldwide.
“This special edition A6 highlights Audi’s strong focus on
design, and the sophistication of the brand. The A6 model range offers very
sporty variants like our special ‘Le Mans’ edition range and the
soon-to-be-released RS 6, and now with the introduction of the White Edition, we
are also demonstrating the superb quality and design of this model,” Mr
Buschmann said.
The A6 White Edition model is available only in Ibis White
with Black Milano leather upholstery.

exterior window trimming in black)
Deliveries of the A6 White Edition commence later this
month.
