Audi in Australia has appointed Mr Matthias Sedile as the company s new managing director, effective from February 2, 1998.
Mr Sedile joins Audi in Australia from his previous position as Director - Asia Pacific Region, Audi AG, and will take over the management of Audi's operations from chief executive Mr C.K Liew.
Mr Liew said Mr Seidl's knowledge of the marque and experience of the Asia Pacific region, as well as all major European markets, will see Audi in Australia reaping immediate benefits in terms of sales growth and increased
profile.
"We have no doubt Mr Sedile will make a positive contribution to our ambitious sales objectives of around 4,000 vehicles in 1998," he said.
The appointment highlights Audi AG's long-term commitment to sales of Audi vehicles in Australia.
"The Board of Audi in Germany has given me its full support in making the decision to take up the position of managing director in Australia," Mr Sedile said.
Mr Seidl's career with Audi and its international parent. Volkswagen, commenced in 1989 and encompasses experience in sales and marketing and regional management for the Group.
He holds a BSc (Hons) in Business Studies, City University Business School, London.
