Crewe, February 2000 ..... Rolls-Royce and Bentley Motor Cars have announced an order for 31 Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph motor cars from the State of Dubai.
This represents the biggest ever single order the company has received in it's 96 year history.
The largest previous single order was from the Scottish Co-operative for 30 Rolls-Royce Silver Clouds in the 1960's, but this was for chassis and engines only as the bodies were to be coach built for use at funerals . The largest single complete car order was for 10 from the Peninsular Hotel in Hong Kong.
The Dubai order, worth around £ 4.8 million, is to promote Dubai as an exclusive shopping location. The motor cars will be raffled during the month of March 2000, one on each day of the month.
