The new Volvo V70 further establishes Volvo as a responsible manufacturer, concerned with protecting vehicle occupants and equally concerned with protecting the environment.

The new V70 is a spacious and versatile car for an active family life highlighted by attractive styling and comfortable interior features with fine ride and handling characteristics.

The new Volvo V70 will undoubtedly maintain tenure as Australia's most popular luxury wagon.

Australian buyers will choose between four models of the Volvo V70. The V70 T5 and V70 2.4T go on sale immediately. The high-volume V70 20v follows in August and the all-wheel-drive Cross Country is due in September.

Prices are:

  • V70 2.4T 5-speed manual - $71,950 (base RRP) $67,937 (GST-reduced)

  • V70 2.4T Geartronic - $73,950 (base RRP) $69,936 (GST-reduced)

  • V70 T5 5-speed manual - $81,950 (base RRP) $77,937 (GST-reduced)

  • V70 T5 Geartronic - $83,950 (base RRP) $79,936 (GST-reduced)

Pricing for V70 20v and Cross Country will be announced nearer to their on-sale dates in the second half of this year.

"We are excited about the new V70. We believe the new V70 offers exceptional value for money, above the many improvements," says Volvo Car Australia Managing Director Jan Eriksson. "Versatility, quality, safety and performance are the new V70's strengths."

As much as the S80 defined Volvo as a premium European manufacturer, the new V70 confirms Volvo's long-standing reputation and leadership as a designer of well thought out, well appointed and refined wagons.

"Earlier this year, we estimated selling 220 V70 2.4T and 130 V70 T5 vehicles before the year's end. An excellent start, which will continue when the volume-selling V70 20v arrives in July," says Jan Eriksson. "And once we complete the range with the V70XC in September, we have no doubt that the new V70 will attract new buyers to Volvo."

When compared against other luxury wagon brands, the Volvo V70 offers a selective price advantage with a vehicle that is more versatile, designed from the beginning as a wagon, and delivers superior performance.

Volvo understands the modern buyer's varied life style, the need to protect family and friends, and the fun factor. The new V70 wagon accommodates.
