Final Chance To Drive The Awarded Peugeot 306 GTi 6
The Peugeot 306 GTI 6, the performance flagship of the 306 range, has collected its latest accolade as Britain's Best GTI.
The 306 GTI 6 has been recognised by Autocar, one of Europe's leading motoring magazines, in its May 2000 Megatest Special, where it was judged against six of the world's premier performance hatches.
The three-door 306 GTI 6 boasts strong sporting credentials. Powered by a 124 kW 2.0- litre, double ohc, 16-valve engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission, the GTI 6 delivers a solid performance punch (0-100 km/h in 8.2 seconds) combined with a finely tuned sports suspension.
And according to Autocar, the 306 GTI 6 confirms Peugeot's reputation as the world- leading manufacturer of performance hatches.
"In fact it might just be the perfect hot hatch. It's the chassis that lifts it onto another plane. Even at astonishing speeds the 306 remains totally composed".

Australian Spotlight
The Peugeot 306 GTI 6 has also collected Australian honours, winning a commendation from MOTOR magazine when compared with the BMW Compact (Nov '99), as well as securing second place in MOTOR's "Bang For Your Bucks 1998" test (Sept '98).
Andrew Ellis of MOTOR said, "If you're an enthusiast driver, always looking for the next kink in the road to sample your steed's nimbleness, head for the Peugeot. Every time."

Extensive Equipment
At $43,900 (pre-GST) the GTI 6's equipment list includes ABS brakes, sports-tuned suspension, a leather trimmed steering wheel & gear knob, sports front seats with full leather upholstery, body-coloured sports body kit and 15" Cyclone alloy wheels shod with 195/55 Pirelli P6000 V-rated tyres.
Also included is climate-control air-conditioning, electric windows, auto rain-sensing windscreen wipers, height adjustable three-spoke steering wheel and driver's seat, heated and electrically adjustable rear view mirrors as well as front and rear fog lights.
Among the 306 GTI 6's safety and security features are driver, passenger and side airbags, remote central locking, height-adjustable pyrotechnic front seatbelts, passive electronic engine immobiliser, and a high-output, (anti theft) CD stereo.
