Volkswagen's flagship, the all wheel drive version of the Passat V6, receives a new badge and an enhanced list of standard features to add to this great value prestige car.

The Syncro badge has been replaced with 4MOTION, a name set to grace all of Volkswagen's all-wheel-drive models in the future.

On the outside the Passat V6 4MOTION now sports 17" 'largo' alloy wheels and low profile tyres – further enhancing the car's already impressive on road performance.

While on the inside the luxurious levels of appointment are further enhanced with the fitment of sports front seats finished in a new perforated leather upholstery.

Marketing Manager for Volkswagen in Australia Oliver Mann said these new additions, together with the long list of existing features, create a standout value for money European car in the luxury car class.

"Already standard is the 5 speed tiptronic gearbox, electric glass sunroof, remote central locking, alarm and immobiliser, climate controlled air conditioning and a 6-stack CD player," Mr Mann said.

"The Passat V6 4MOTION is the epitome of German style and luxury at a price unrivalled in its class."

With its sleek lines and Volkswagen's characteristic attention to detail, the Passat has won the hearts of drivers as well as several prestigious motoring awards since its introduction to Australia in 1998.

4MOTION stands for the optimum interaction of four driven wheels and the promise of even safer driving regardless of road and weather conditions. When combined with 5th generation ABS, traction control and an electronic differential lock, the system offers tremendous security in the most demanding conditions.

The Passat V6 4MOTION will be joined by the Bora V6 4MOTION when the latter is released in Australia in early 2001.

The recommended retail price of the Passat V6 4MOTION is $65,990.
