Race 2 13 Laps
Conditions: Sunny & Warm
Track: Fine & Dry.
A steady Race 2 performance saw David Scaysbrook secure the inaugural Porsche Cars Australia Award for Class 'B' and 'C' competitors in this year's Pirelli Porsche Cup. "Although I missed the 4th Round of the series Don Munro has ensured that my T & D Automotive/Miller Brothers Smash Repairs 911 RS Carrera has been nothing but reliable. This has undoubtedly aided my victories throughout the season," said a delighted Scaysbrook.
Elated by his 4th Round victory of the year, Simon Froude said, "I cannot re-iterate enough how important the support provided by Fitzgerald Racing Services has been. This victory is as much theirs as it is mine. Thankfully I can now relax going into the final round at Sandown in 6 weeks time".
A disappointed Martin Wagg suffered terminal gearbox problems for the second time in three rounds. After another perfect start, Wagg was forced to retire on the third lap of the race when neutral was all he could find on the exit of the Northern Hairpin. Too disappointed to comment, Wagg will undoubtedly be looking forward to the break to ensure him the best chance of a hometown Grand Final performance.
An exciting battle for the minor places again developed between New South Welshmen Chris Stannard and Wayne Cooper. Thrilling the South Australian crowd, Chris Stannard in his North Sydney Marine 911 GT2 attempted a bold last corner passing manoeuvre on Wayne Cooper in his Just Cuts/East Coast Suspension 911 RS/CS only to fall 0.0065 seconds short.
Phil Dixon in his Ace Embroidery 911 S ensured that he did not interfere with any other battle as he gained a lonely Class 'C' win.
