Volvo Car Australia has introduced a new S60, the S60 2.4, aggressively priced at $49,950 (manual transmission).
According to Volvo Car Australia's Managing Director, Alwin Popken, this additional variant will further sharpen the competitive edge of Volvo' s most popular sedan.
"The S60 sold just over 1000 units in its first year on the market. Adding another variant to our existing S60 line-up will enhance the success of our newest model," said Popken.
The S60 2.4 incorporates the essential engineering, safety and most of the comfort features of the higher-priced S60 2.4 SE. The automatic version of the S60 2.4 is equally well priced at $52,450.
Externally, the 2.4 is identical to the 2.4 SE, with the same stunning styling that won Italy's Automobilia award for most beautiful sedan in the world.
As for the SE, the 2.4 is powered by the low emission five cylinder 2435cc 20 valve engine, developing 125kW at 5900rpm. Manual transmission is 5-speed with overdrive on top gear, automatic is 5-speed adaptive with winter mode, the same as the SE. Alloy wheels are the same - Lysithea 6.5 X 15" on 195/65 tyres.
The multi-award winning S60 range now includes the S60 2.4, the S60 2.4 SE, the S60 2.4 T and the S60 T5, covering a price range from $49,950 to $84,950.
Orders can be placed with dealers now for the 2.4, with volume deliveries starting in July.
