Lexus has launched an advanced technology Rear Seat Entertainment system (RSE) for its LX470 luxury four-wheel-drive.
RSE allows rear seat passengers to enjoy DVD and CD-based video and audio programs on a seven-inch anti-glare screen that folds down from the slim-line integrated RSE system mounted to the vehicle's roof.
Rear seat passengers can sit back, relax and watch the latest DVD movies and listen to music via wireless infrared stereo headphones.
"This system is an extension of the Lexus commitment to providing its passengers with the most comfortable and enjoyable experience possible," said Lexus Australia's Senior Manager, John Roca.
The RSE system's combination DVD player/screen/infra-red transmitter features an audio/video buffer and internal damping system to help eliminate skipping on less than smooth road surfaces.
The RSE can play DVD-R, MP3, CD-R, CD-RW, CD-A and VCD formats.
Its compact, slim-line design and colour-coded trim ensures a neat integration into the LX470 interior.
Passengers can remotely or manually adjust colour, contrast and brightness, and activate volume and power controls on each headphone set.
The integrated unit also features standard auxiliary inputs for video and audio RCA connections.
The system is protected by a four-digit theft deterrent security code and covered by a Lexus three-year or 100,000km warranty (whichever occurs first) if fitted at time of new vehicle purchase or by a 12-month warranty (when retro-fitted). Lexus dealers have full details.
