Mitsubishi Motors Announces 2003 Supplier Excellence Awards

Mitsubishi Motors Australia Ltd (MMAL) has announced its Supplier Excellence Awards for 2003.

Suppliers are judged on a range of criteria taking into account the main drivers of quality, delivery and cost. Among other attributes which are considered are productivity, environmental focus, value analysis, customer service and project management.

The premier award of Supplier of the Year went to DENSO International Australia Pty Ltd who supply Mitsubishi Motors with instrument clusters, radiator and fan assemblies, carbon canisters and windscreen washers.

Mitsubishi's Director of Supply, Tony Breugem said, "Our supplier Awards recognise exceptional quality, service and value among our suppliers and it is critical for the Australian automotive industry as we compete internationally, to acknowledge the efforts of our component suppliers."

Mr Matsunobu, Managing Director of DENSO International Australia (DIAU), said "the significant team effort of our associates from our design, sales and service at DIAU together with our manufacturing associates at our plant, Australian Automotive Air (AAA), have made a tremendous effort to support Mitsubishi in its Australian Operations.

We are all extremely proud to be recognised by a key customer such as MMAL. It signifies the strength of our relationship between our two companies."

Mitsubishi also presented Supplier Excellence awards to Australia Arrow Pty Ltd, supplier of wiring harnesses; Chemetall (Australasia) Pty Ltd, chemical supplies and Melba Industries, fabric for seating and interior trim.

In the Value Analysis category of the Mitsubishi awards, the winners for Total Savings were Air International Pty Ltd (Gold), Australian Arrow Pty Ltd (Silver) and Houghton Australia Pty Ltd (Bronze).

In the Service Savings and Support section, the winner was Dow Chemical Australia Ltd with Chemetall Australasia Pty Ltd in second place and PBR Automotive Pty Ltd, third.
