Subarus hold the top ten places for resale values for vehicles aged 12 months in the SUV Compact segment, according to the latest Glass’s quarterly assessment of used car values, “Fleet and Residuals Guide (March – May 2006).”

Outback holds eight of the top places and Forester takes out the remaining two spots, up from six of the top ten recorded in the final quarter of 2004.

At 12 months, average retained value is an impressive 74.34 per cent.

Subaru also holds a perfect top ten result in the 24 and 36-month categories, with the Outback 3.0R Premium ranked first with 69.7 per cent and 65.1 per cent retained value respectively.

At 48 months Subaru holds seven of the top ten places and at 60 months nine of the top ten spots.

Nick Senior, Managing Director, Subaru Australia said: “Subaru has traditionally performed strongly when it comes to resale value, but to hold all top ten spots over the first three years of vehicle ownership is a fantastic result.

“Re-sale value is right up there on people’s checklist when buying a new car and these results show why Subarus make a smart choice - a vehicle with strong resale value can potentially save thousands of dollars at trade-in time.

“Outback is a strong performer when it comes to retained value; coupled with a five star ANCAP safety rating and Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive it is no surprise it ranks highly.”
