  • Executive and Sport models enliven BMW 7 Series range
  • Ex-factory features combine with BMW Individual elements for added exclusivity
  • Available in 4.0-litre and 4.8-litre V8 models and includes, for the first time, a long-wheelbase Sport 7 Series

Combining dramatic style, supreme passenger comfort and an unmatched blend of on-road smoothness and handling precision, the BMW 7 Series revolutionised the luxury car segment when it was introduced to Australia in January 2002.

From the elegant, individual presence of the V8-powered 740i to the blistering power and commanding authority of the long-wheelbase, V12-powered 760Li, the flagship BMW sedan has established a footprint to be envied at the upper end of the luxury market.

And now, to further extend the appeal of the 7 Series to luxury car buyers, BMW has developed a two-model strategy that adds Executive and Sport models to the existing range.

Combining ex-factory features with elements from the BMW Individual programme, the 7 Series Executive and Sport variants are positioned above the current models and embrace the 740i, 740Li, 750i and 750Li.

Both 7 Series Executive and Sport models offer value well beyond their price, with the extra equipment adding approximately half the normal retail cost.

In the tradition of providing outstanding luxury value, the 7 Series Executive models are equipped with 19-inch Star spoke alloy wheels, Alcantara roof lining in black or platinum, extended application of Individual Merino leather and exclusive Individual interior trim as well as illuminated Individual door sills.

The driver also benefits from the tactile luxury of a BMW Individual leather steering wheel with a wood rim insert.

The more driver-focussed 7 Series Sport replaces the Sport package that was optionally available on the 740i and 750i.

Featuring the same equipment used on the Sport package it includes Sport suspension, Dynamic Drive, high-gloss satin chrome trim and Sport seats on the 740i and 740Li Sport models.

The 750i and 750Li Sport retain the feature-packed Comfort seats already fitted to the regular 750i/Li models.

In addition, all 7 Series Sport models come with Anthracite roof lining, extended use of BMW Individual Merino leather, Individual Piano Black interior trim, Individual leather steering wheel with wood rim insert, a storage net in the front passenger footwell and illuminated Individual door sills.

The 7 Series Sport models are also fitted with dramatic Y-spoke 20-inch alloy wheels that maximise the dynamic focus of the Sport suspension, although buyers can choose 19-inch V-spoke alloy wheels as a no-cost option.

The 740Li and 750Li Sport models mark the availability for the first time of a Sport version of the long-wheelbase 7 Series, combining extra comfort and passenger space with an even more dynamic persona.

Adding even more zest to the 7 Series Executive and Sport is a special reduced price ($3,000) on optional BMW Individual paint at less than half the normal retail figure.

The 740i and 740Li models are equipped with the muscular 4.0-litre BMW V8 engine producing 225 kW at 6,300 rpm, along with 390 Nm of torque at 3,500rpm, while the 750i and 750Li models brandish the stunning power of the 4.8-litre V8 that produces 270 kW at 6,300 rpm and 490 Nm of torque at 3,400 rpm.

The BMW 760Li, with its 6.0-litre V12 engine producing 327 kW at 6000 rpm and 600 Nm or torque at 3950 rpm, continues as an upper luxury saloon outside the Executive and Sport versions of the 4.0-litre and 4.8-litre V8 models.

All models are equipped with BMW’s six-speed Steptronic automatic transmission, providing smooth and efficient power delivery along with fastacting responses that can be helped along by the manual shift mode.
