Results for June highlighted Hyundai’s continued revival in
new car sales performance, according to official car industry figures released
today by VFACTS.
In total, 5023 new Hyundai vehicles were sold during the month
– the highest since June 2005, and only the second time ever that Hyundai has
breached the 5000 unit threshold.
Getz achieved its highest ever sales performance in a single
month, with 2486 units. Getz combined with Accent at 486 units to give Hyundai
leadership of the Light car segment at 2972, outpacing Toyota’s result of 2926.
Elantra and Santa Fe likewise both achieved personal best
performances within the lifecycles of the current models, at 789 and 364 units
respectively.
Hyundai’s total of 5023 gave the brand a 4.8% market share for
the month and a 4.4% share year to date. Within the Private and Business market,
Hyundai’s share was 4.2%, reflecting the brand’s continued popularity among
buyers who choose their own vehicle.
