Overlander 4WD Magazine, Australia’s longest-established 4WD off-road
magazine, has named the Hyundai Santa Fe CRDi as the Best Compact 4WD in the
Overlander 4WD Awards for 2007. The award positions Santa Fe as the only AWD
“soft-roader” SUV to win an Overlander 4WD Magazine award in 2007.
Overlander 4WD Magazine said the Santa Fe’s 2.2-litre turbo diesel is “a
modern, sophisticated design with the same sort of technology as you’ll find
amongst the other (all more expensive) diesel-powered award winners on these
pages. It has no trouble propelling the Santa Fe at a brisk pace if asked, and
even when pushed, is never thirsty.”
Oliver Mann, Hyundai general marketing manager said “This award reflects the
time and dedication that has been devoted to developing the Santa Fe as a class
leading vehicle. The Santa Fe has established its self as a proven performer and
we believe that this award will be one of many to come.”
The Santa Fe CRDi comes with a range of exciting accessories that don’t
compromise performance for style and sophistication. These include 17’ alloy
wheels, roof rack, Turbo equipped engine on the outside and telescopic
adjustable steering wheel, steering wheel mounted controls and a MP3 compatible
CD player on the inside.
This new award for Santa Fe follows:
- 2007 Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) Top Safety Pick Award
(USA)
- 2007 Strategic Vision Top Quality Award: Best Small SUV Ownership Experience
(USA)
Overlander 4WD Magazine describes the new generation Santa Fe as “far more
off road capable than its soft-road tag suggests. Driven with due care, it never
fails to surprise us with just where it can go.”
Like all Hyundai models, the Santa Fe CRDi comes with Australia’s first
unlimited kilometre five year warranty.
