Audi confirms stellar line up for Melbourne Show
Audi has confirmed the Australian premiere of three brand new production
models and one concept car at the Melbourne International Motor Show later this
month.
In line with the company’s brand value of sporty, progressive and
sophisticated, Audi will showcase the new RS6 Avant supercar, fire-breathing TTS
Coupe, and elegant A3 Cabriolet models on the opening day of the show on Friday
29 February 2008.
All three production models will be on display well in advance of their
Australian market introduction dates in 2008. Audi’s first-time concept
car, the Audi Cross Coupe, will also make its Australian debut and will give
show-goers a taste of the future of compact SUV models from the German luxury
carmaker. Audi’s managing director, Joerg Hofmann, says the company
remains focussed on strong market growth and the introduction of these key new
cars, plus all-important models such as the new A4 would further boost the
brand’s image and sales in 2008.
“New product is a key strength of the Audi brand and the onslaught of new
models arriving in Australia this year will cement our reputation as an
innovator and a brand focussed on sporty performance. The unbeatable performance
of the new RS 6 Avant for example, combined with the elegant A3 Cabriolet mean
that Audi is once again offering a diverse choice for luxury car buyers.”
“Adding the all new A4 and TTS Coupe and Roadster to these key niche models
will ensure Audi is always top-of-mind for discerning buyers. I am confident
that each new model will be in high demand following their respective Australian
introductions,” Mr Hofmann said.
Rounding out the impressive array of Australian premiere performances will be
the A3 Sportback, sporty S3, S5, and S8 range-topping variants, the new A6 2.8
Le Mans edition, all-terrain A6 allroad quattro, high-performance Q7 4.2 TDI,
popular TT Roadster and the R8 sports coupe.
Hofmann believes the line-up at the Melbourne Motor Show is further proof of
Audi’s growing popularity in Australia.
“Audi Australia had a record year of sales in 2007 and we have continued this
success into 2008 with a record month of sales in January. Our continuing growth
and success in this market places us in a strong position to secure exciting
highlight cars to continue to showcase the brand in a high-profile way Down
Under,” Mr Hofmann said. “These new models will contribute to our sales
growth and help us achieve double digit growth for the fourth consecutive year.”
