Two of Australia's big names in sport - one on and one off the field - have joined the Saab Australia team.
Australian test cricket's new leg-spin sensation, Stuart MacGill, and Network Ten sports presenter, Bill Woods, this week chose Saab as their number one team when they became Saab Ambassadors.
The duo are the latest big names to become Saab Ambassadors, following in the wake of swimming stars Kieren Perkins and Susie O'Neill.
MacGill, who now drives a beautiful black Saab 9-3 S Convertible valued at over $70,000, shot to prominence in the last Ashes series where he was Australia's inform leg-spin bowler in the test matches, carrying his great form into the recent tour of the West Indies.
Woods, who co-hosts the top-rating weekly motor sports show 'RPM' and presents major motor sport events such as the Australian 500cc Motorcycle Grand Prix and Indycar event on the Gold Coast, is now on the streets in his new Saab 9-5 SE Estate valued at over $72,000.
"Saab is stylish and premium and the 9-3 Convertible is a seriously nice car," says MacGill. "I identify with Saab because it isn't a stereotype brand. Saab is personal and unique, and that suits me."
Woods, a family man with three children, drives the new Saab 9-5 SE Estate. "The 9-5 Estate is ideal for our growing family," says Woods. "My wife likes the space and versatility of the Estate and I love the turbo engine performance."
Both the 9-3 S Convertible and 9-5 SE Estate are loaded with safety and luxury equipment. Twin front airbags, side airbags, anti-skid brakes, fully integrated remote central locking with alarm, leather interior, automatic climate control (ACC) air-conditioning, power windows, CD player and smooth turbocharged engine are standard in both cars.
As members of the Saab Ambassadors team, the pair will actively promote Saab by driving Saab cars and participating in special Saab events.
"It's terrific to have national identities such as Stuart and Bill join our list of high-profile people driving Saabs and actively promoting the Saab brand," says Saab Automobile Australia national marketing manager, Mr. Patrick Lyons.
"Stuart and Bill both have a passion for Saab and identify with the company's core values of performance, safety and style at a value price for a premium car."
