Saab Automobile Australia's commitment to customer care gains speed in July with the introduction of hi-tech Saab Mobile Service Centre vehicles and a free 2500km 'check and adjust' programme for owners of new Saabs.
The eye-catching Saab Mobile Service Centre vehicles, which will initially operate in metropolitan Sydney and Melbourne, complement Saab's 24-hour Roadside Assist programme to bring new levels of customer care and service.
The specially-equipped Mobile Service Centre 9-5 SE Estates active in Australia's biggest cities are loaded with the latest in hi-tech diagnostic equipment and parts to perform 'on the run' servicing.
The modified Estates — each valued at well over $100,000— have the same comprehensive diagnostic capabilities as regular Saab service centres and can perform some servicing, depending on the requirement.
The Saab Mobile Service Centres are also equipped to implement Saab's free 2500km 'check and adjust' programme.
The 'check and adjust' programme allows Saab's service technicians to check every new Saab's major and minor running systems after the first 2500km, and also tailor every Saab's programmable functions — no less than 18—to suit each owner's requirements.
These include customising the anti-theft and security system, tailoring the ventilation and air-conditioning controls and programming features of the Saab car computer.
"Improving customer care is not something we merely talk about at Saab. It's something we actively pursue through value-added initiatives such as our Mobile Service Centre fleet and free 'check and adjust' programme," says Saab Automobile Australia managing director, Mr. Bob Maron.
"We realise that not all Saab owners can always find the time to get along to their service dealer, that's why with the Mobile Service Centre vehicles we come to them.
"And our free 2500km 'check and adjust' allows us to check each new Saab owner's car as well as programme the small but important features of their Saab precisely the way they want them," says Mr. Maron.
The Mobile Service Centre vehicles are also fitted with a global positioning system (GPS) to monitor their movement and give Saab owners an accurate arrival time.
Each vehicle is operated by a fully-qualified Saab service technician.
These black Estates, resplendent in fluoro yellow highlights and special decals, will rotate through metro Saab dealers in Sydney and Melbourne, with a view to increasing the fleet and its presence in these and other major cities over the next 12 months.
