Fresh New Volvo Magazine

23 December, 1998

The Summer 1998 issue features a fascinating profile on Olivia Newton-John, no fewer than 5 competitions and more!!!

Volvo's new look is spreading into every facet of its operations. With a change in the product, corporate scene and the showroom front, Volvo Magazine is a communications vehicle which relates to the lives and interests of its customers. Which relates to the lives and interests of its customers, Volvo Magazine. The fourth edition offers an expansive range of topics which involves interests for any Volvo enthusiast.

The very lovely Olivia Newton-John is the cover story for the summer edition. In an exclusive interview with the Volvo Magazine Olivia is disarmingly candid about her life. We see how this full of life character likes to get away from it all, preferably in a Volvo and how she has dealt with the highs and lows.

Fantastic competitions are offered in a magazine designed to appeal to all generations. Prizes include a secluded paradise escape at Kims Retreat on the Central Coast of New South Wales or a fantastic $2000 Cannondale mountain bike or a mixed dozen from the recently awarded Wine Maker of the Year, Jeffrey Grosset. Readers can be assured that they are a part of the action with Volvo.

If that isn't enough, readers can have a bit of fun and create a livery design on the outline of a 200 series Volvo. To kick the competition off well known artists will paint their designs on four classic Volvos.

With the aggressive new direction Volvo is taking, it is not surprising Volvo is winning both on and off the race track. A double page spread recalls the victorious Bathurst 1000 race and British Touring Car Championship in the Volvo S40, including an opportunity to win an autographed poster from entries also via the Volvo web site.

Another great achievement Volvo has grasped is the overwhelming response to the launch of the fabulous new S80. The S80 is featured in the magazine along with all of achievements, one of which is winning the NRMA luxury car award over $55,000.

This month's magazine also includes an interview with Russian and "honorary Australian" Alexander Popov, the fastest man in the pool over 100 metres. The interview exposes Popov's love for Australia, and his everyday life.

The Volvo Magazine is a part of the fresh new look for Volvo. The magazine has a 50,000 print run and is distributed to owners of vehicles up to seven years old, potential buyers as well as a database of influential Australians.
