Less than six months after its official release in Australia, the Daihatsu Sirion has already been crowned a winner by two Australian motoring bodies.
The past two weeks have been triumphant for Daihatsu Australia after picking up three industry awards.
The first came on opening day at the 1998 Australian International Motor Show in Sydney’s Darling Harbour Exhibition Centre, where popular New South Wales radio station 2KY announced that the Daihatsu Sirion and Daihatsu Terios had been judged winner in the "Best Value Small Car" and "Best Value All Road Vehicle" categories respectively.
The announcement of Terios as the 1998 "Best Value All Road Vehicle", confirms its 1997 win in the same award category and proves undeniably that the Terios is truly a well balanced motor car that offers practicality, style and value for money.
In a more recent announcement South Australia’s largest motoring body, the South Australian Royal Auto Assoc., proclaimed the Sirion, "Best Family Car under $25,000", ahead of the Subaru Impreza and Nissan Pulsar.
Whilst the Sirion is priced at the bottom end of the category, and competed against larger, more expensive models, the judges couldn’t go past the Sirion for its sheer value for money offerings, five-door versatility and excellent build quality.
This is the second consecutive year that Daihatsu have won this award. Last year the practical and versatile Pyzar picked up the same award for exactly the same reasons.
