The new generation Impreza WRX STi has been given a four and-a-half star rating in the Car 2001 motoring section in The Courier-Mail newspaper, Brisbane.
The report says: "Subaru has taken a chunk off the sticker price and clipped the WRX's wings yet come up with a missile more accurate and refined than the previous model."
The Courier-Mail says ride and handling have benefited from greater damping control, while the inverted struts help cornering.
It adds: "Put to a gruelling test at the launch at Tasmania's Baskerville race circuit last week, the brakes survived the abuse of 21 different drivers turning laps from noon to 5.30pm. At the end of the day, the pedal feel was still strong and assuring and stopping power was as solid as it had been at the start of the day."
