Hondas latest high-performance bybrid sportscar is on display at the 2002 Sydney International Motorshow, Darling Harbour Exhibition Centre.
The Dualnote combines supercar-like performance while minimising its environmental impact.
Certain to be a show favorite, the Dualnote will spearhead the range of production models Honda will showcase including the Civic, Integra, the top-selling CRV, Odyssey, and luxury Legend models, as well as the all-new Honda Jazz.
The Honda Dualnote concept vehicle is a mid-engine, all-wheel drive 3.5-litre i-VTEC V6 hybrid that embellishes Hondas sports heritage and environmental empathy. The aerodynamic four-door sports coupe features a refined version of the Civic Hybrid IMA (Integrated Motor Assist) system powering the front wheels for maximum performance and fuel efficiency.
By combining the additional front drive motor and rear-mounted i-VTEC V6 engine, the Honda Dualnote drivetrain delivers around 300kW of power while delivering exceptional economy of 5.51 litres per 100kms.
The smooth and stable cornering of an advanced version of ATTS, which was standard in the top-of-the- range Honda Prelude, (Active Torque Transfer System) and side slip control characteristics of VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist) are synchronised to employ maximum traction.
The Dualnotes high-tech instrument panel uses interactive voice recognition technology to operate the three display units. The instrument panel not only advises the driver of their speed, engine rpm and other vital information; it also notifies the driver of incoming email and telephone messages. The Dualnote is equipped with night vision, which uses an infrared camera to detect pedestrians while the in-built navigation display indicates changes in road direction.
