Two experimental Toyotas will be amongst the line-up of concept cars set to dazzle visitors to this year's Sydney Motor Show in October.
The Toyota FXS and FINE-S represent two different research and development directions being pursued simultaneously by the company.
Toyota says the FXS concept was developed to explore new directions for a next-generation sports car.
It features a 4.3 litre V8 driving the rear wheels, race-style double-wishbone suspension and a Formula One-inspired six-speed sequential gearbox.
The interior of the FXS features a unique two-spoke steering wheel and an in-dash compass in a futuristic blue-lit centre console.
The FINE-S concept is part of Toyota's on-going research into environmentally friendly cars and trucks.
It features a hybrid hydrogen fuel-cell/electric drive train, combined with a low centre-of-gravity and an individual wheel torque control system for excellent handling.
Toyota says the futuristic high-performance look of the FINE-S demonstrates that its fuel cell technology can be installed in a wide variety of vehicle types, shapes and sizes
The two Toyotas will compete for the attentions of show-goers with concept cars from Hyundai and Jeep.
Hyundai will show its HCD-7 limousine concept, which the company says is a pointer to a future version of its Equus prestige saloon as sold in Korea and some other markets.
Penned by Hyundai's California design studio, HCD-7's curvaceous exterior was inspired by an aircraft fuselage - the theme extending to its executive jet-style interior.
The Hyundai is powered by an all-alloy 4.5 litre V8 driving through massive 21x10-inch billet alloy wheels.
Jeep will show a replica of the car that starred in the recent Hollywood blockbuster Tomb Raider 2.
The concept cars will be amongst more than 60 new models on display at the Sydney Motor Show from 5pm October 16 until Sunday, October 26.
